pixi + Caroline Hirons double cleanse

We’ve been fans of the Pixi Glow Tonic for a few years now so we always take an interest when they develop a new product. The Double Cleanse they brought out earlier this year really made us sit up and pay attention as it has been developed by the hugely popular beauty blogger Caroline Hirons in conjunction with Pixi. Hirons certainly seems to know her stuff (it was Hirons who told us an exfoliating tonic should be run across the lips as well as the rest of the face to get rid of dead skin, for example, and we’ve not looked back on that score.)

The real beauty of this hot cloth cleanser (i.e. one that you apply to the face and then use a hot flannel to buff off) is that it pretty much demands that you double cleanse. We’ve certainly been guilty of only going once round our face with a flannel when using other cleansers in the past but because Double Cleanse contains two separate elements (a solid cleansing oil and a cleansing cream) you feel obliged to use them both, one after the other… and thus double cleanse! Of course some of you may already be disciplined enough to never skimp on a double cleanse and for you, we wouldn’t insist you swap cleansers to try this one. It is nonetheless a lovely, paraben free and reasonably priced cleanser which is suitable for all skin types. Most importantly, it’s finally made the lazier among us stick to a more thorough night time regime.
